About Us

Kiara’s culinary passion started young, so young that she remembers being picked up and sat on the countertops as a child to help mix cake dough and peel potatoes. She always worked alongside her mom, grandma, and aunts, to prepare meals for her massive family. The flame inside her to bring joy to everyone through food and dessert burned bright.

After graduating High School, Kiara competed in cooking and baking competitions to earn enough money and scholarships to enroll in culinary school. She won multiple competitions, enrolled in culinary school, and graduated with a degree in Baking and Pastries, and a minor in Culinary Arts.

Kiara wanted to experience everything that the culinary world had to offer. She spent years learning the restaurant industry, and then joined Territory Foods, a national meal prep company. Kiara devoted herself to learning the meal prep industry for 6 years, and she worked her way up to Head Chef and Operations Manager for her Territory Foods kitchen. Kiara’s kitchen prepared 3,500 meals a week that were delivered throughout all of Southern California. She prepared thousands of meals for the CrossFit Games in the Summer of 2016, hosted cooking classes for Nike Athletes in Manhattan Beach, and designed vegan dish menus that are being produced at Whole Foods Market.

Kiara loved the meal prep industry and was proud of her personal growth, but throughout that time she had been diving into custom celebration cakes and event catering. She wanted to build her dream business, somewhere where she could work directly with her customers, see the smiles that her food brings them, and something that she can call her own. With support from her soon-to-be husband, friends, and family, she took the leap of faith and created Braun’s Catering Company!
